Our story

Built because the
job market is hard enough.

Landed exists because the tools that were supposed to help people navigate a job search were making it harder. We decided to fix that.

The problem we saw

Most job seekers are losing to a spreadsheet.

The modern job search is brutal. Application volumes are up, response rates are down, and the average search takes three to six months. During that time, most people are managing dozens of active applications across multiple companies, stages, and points of contact.

The tools that exist to help — trackers, CRMs, spreadsheets — all share the same fatal flaw: they require the job seeker to do the work. You have to remember to update the status. You have to log the recruiter call. You have to set the follow-up reminder. And that discipline is nearly impossible to maintain when you are also doing the actual work of a job search: researching companies, preparing for interviews, writing cover letters, and managing the emotional weight of rejection.

So the tracker falls behind. You lose track of where things stand. You miss follow-up windows. Opportunities go cold not because you were a bad candidate — but because the tools failed you at the worst possible moment.

What we built

A job search that runs itself.

Landed connects to your recruiting email — iCloud or Gmail — and reads it on your behalf twice a day. When a recruiter moves you forward, sends a rejection, or confirms an interview, Landed picks it up automatically and updates your pipeline. No manual entry. No forwarding rules. No remembering.

On top of the passive tracking, Landed coaches you. It tells you which applications need attention, surfaces follow-up windows before they close, and drafts the message so the barrier to action is as low as possible.

The goal is simple: give people who struggle with organization the same strategic advantage as people who are naturally disciplined. The job search should be won on merit, not on who has the better spreadsheet.

Who built it

Sam Cavaliere
Founder & Builder

Sam is a 30-year tech industry veteran who has held senior roles at Microsoft, EMC, VMware, and MongoDB. He has spent the last decade in enterprise consulting and pre-sales — helping organizations scope and deliver complex technical engagements. He built Landed because he watched too many talented people lose track of their own job searches during the most stressful periods of their careers, and he knew there had to be a better way.

Landed is documented publicly as part of TechCurrents, Sam's podcast and newsletter for mid-career tech professionals navigating layoffs, burnout, and career transitions. The build is intentionally transparent — what works, what doesn't, and what it actually takes to ship a product while working a full-time job.
